City Of MEridian Public Art

Bloom Meridian

It was my pleasure to work with the Valley Regional Transit, Meridian Development, Meridian Arts Commission and the Meridian City Council on the new piece of public art. I can’t thank them enough for supporting public transportation and local artists. You can see the new pieces at 3rd & Pine or in front of Scheels on Wayfinder & Vanguard.

My concept for the bus shelter is to show a journey through time. Using the landscape of the shelter, I want to illustrate the founding of Meridian. It was important for me to use this opportunity to show the history, as well as everyday people that make our town what it is today. A few points of importance that will be featured in the artwork are; The founders blossoming from flowers, the first farmers using irrigation and agriculture to develop crops, the original trolley train used to commute, and a few old landmarks that will transition us into the modern depiction of Meridian. I want to use detail and color to grab any viewer and show them the rich journey of Meridian.
